President and Chairman of the Board
Jim is a shareholder in McDaniel &
Associates and serves the firm as President and Chairman of the Board.
His primary focus at the firm is in the areas of taxation and estate
planning.
He received his B.S. in Accounting in 1973 from Mississippi State
University. Upon graduation, he began work at McDaniel and became a CPA
in 1975. Then in 1988, Jim received certification as a Certified
Financial Planner.
Jim is a member of the AICPA, the Alabama Society of CPAs, and the
Institute of Certified Financial Planners. He has served his community
as past chairman of both the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce and Dothan
by Design, a chamber committee whose scope is to foster a multi-year
economic development public/private partnership with Dothan area
government entities and business investors. Jim is a member of the
Dothan-Houston County Rotary Club, of which he has served as both the
president and treasurer. He also received one of the Rotary's highest
honors in 1992 when he was elected a Paul Harris Fellow.
He is married to the former Ann Howell, and they are active at
First United Methodist Church of Dothan. They have three children and
two grandchildren.
