Mac Carpenter, CPAMac grew up in Headland, Alabama. After graduating from Headland High School, he entered the University of Alabama. While at the University, he was treasurer of Delta Sigma Pi, president of Beta Alpha Psi, and a member of the Student Advisory Committee of the School of Commerce and Business Administration. Mac was also a member of the Advanced ROTC of the University and received a commission as Second Lieutenant. He served six months active duty and eight years in the U.S. Army Reserve attaining the rank of Captain. He graduated from the University in May of 1959 and received his CPA certificate in May of 1961.

Mac is a member of the Alabama Society of CPAs serving in various capacities including President in 1976-77. He has also served in the past as chairman for both the Southeast Alabama Chapter of CPAs and the Alabama State Board of Public Accounting. Mac was elected Regional Director of the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy for 1986-87. In addition, he is a current member of the AICPA and served as a member of Council in 1975-76.

Mac has been a member of the Kiwanis Club of Dothan for over 40 years. During that time, he has served as chairman of various committees, director, and president. He is also a past treasurer and president of Help the Kids, Inc.

Prior to merging his practice with McDaniel & Associates in 1999, Mac was the senior partner in the firm of Carpenter, Bevis & Eberhart.

Mac is a member of First Baptist Church of Dothan where he has served as deacon for over 30 years. In addition, he has served in many other capacities in the church and is the current Chairman of the Finance Committee.

Mac is married to the former Sylvia Hyatt and they have two daughters and four grandchildren.
